Thanksgiving travel season begins at Sacramento airport

BIT. SO WAIT A BIT FOR THAT TO CLEAR UP. HAPPENING NOW, AIRPORTS ARE BRACING FOR THE HOLIDAY TRAVEL SEASON. TODAY KICKS OFF WHAT THE SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS EXPECTING TO BE ONE OF THE BUSIEST TIMES OF THE YEAR AS PEOPLE TRAVEL FOR THANKSGIVING. SO AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFOREHAND, STILL IT WAS A VERY LONG LINE AT THE BAGGAGE DROP OFF SO. WE WERE JUST HOPING THAT WE WERE GONNA MAKE OUR FLIGHT. WELL, THEN I WAS THINKING I HOPE OUR BAGS MAKE IT, TOO. KCRA 3’S LYSEE MITRI IS LIVE AT THE AIRPORT. WHAT’S IT LOOKING LIKE RIGHT NOW, LYSEE? THE CROWDS HAVE BEEN COMING AND GOING THROUGHOUT THE DAY AS YOU WOULD IMAGINE RIGHT NOW. SOME FLIGHTS JUST ARRIVED. IF YOU CAN SEE PEOPLE WAITING TO GET THEIR BACKS, COMING IN FROM SAN DIEGO AND PORTLAND IN THIS CASE. THE AIRPORTS IS EXPECTING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING THROUGH HERE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON TO REACH OR SURPASS PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS. PEOPLE ARE PACKING UP AND HEADING OUT FOR THANKSGIVING. FOR THE BALTEZORES, IT WAS A HECTIC MORNING. THE FLIGHT WAS GREAT. GETTING ON THE FLIGHT WAS A BIT OF A NIGHTMARE, SO WE’RE COMING IN FROM SAN DIEGO AND IT’S JAM PACKED OVER THERE. WE THOUGHT WE WERE GETTING THERE EARLY ENOUGH. APPARENTLY NOT. THEY GOT THERE AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE THEIR FLIGHT. BUT THE LINE TO DROP OFF THEIR LUGGAGE WAS LONG. ARE THERE STILL BAGS COMING OUT? UH, NO, OK. LEAVING THEM WONDERING IF THEIR SUITCASES SUCCESSFULLY MADE THE TRIP TO SACRAMENTO. I WONDER IF OUR BAGS DIDN’T MAKE IT. WHILE THINGS DIDN’T GO QUITE AS SMOOTHLY AS THEY’D HOPED. YEAH, I MEAN IF ANYTHING IT WILL GET ON THE NEXT FLIGHT AND FLIGHTS FROM SAN DIEGO ARE PRETTY FREQUENT SO THAT’S AT LEAST A PLUS. THEY’RE STILL EXCITED TO ENJOY THANKSGIVING HERE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HOPING TO DEFINITELY HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND EAT PLENTY OF FOOD. THE NUMBER OF TRAVELERS FLYING IN AND OUT OF THE SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MORE THAN DOUBLED IN NOVEMBER LAST YEAR COMPARED TO THE LULL IN NOVEMBER THE YEAR BEFORE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. LAST NOVEMBER, MORE THAN 970,000 PEOPLE CAME THROUGH HERE. AND THIS NOVEMBER THE NUMBER OF TRAVELERS IS EXPECTED TO REACH OR SURPASS PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS. THE NEXT STOP FOR THE SIFERS. HELLO IS ORANGE COUNTY. WE’RE GOING TO ORANGE COUNTY TO SEE HIS BROTHER AND FAMILY AND THEN TAKING THE GIRLS TO DISNEYLAND FOR A COUPLE DAYS. HER FIRST TIME AND HER FIRST TIME. TRAVELING WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN BE A LOT. CHAOTIC A LITTLE BIT OF CHAOS. BUT THEY’VE DONE THIS BEFORE. WE HAVE 3. THE KIDS CAN’T WAIT FOR DISNEYLAND WHILE MOM, JAYMEE SIFERS IS MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO, NOT HAVING TO COOK OR CLEAN ON THE HOLIDAY. OK, THANK YOU SO MUCH. WHILE LONG LINES AREN’T USUALLY TOO MUCH OF AN ISSUE HERE IN SACRAMENTO THE AIRPORT DOES SAY PARKING IS EXPECTED TO FILL UP FOR THE THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. THEY SUGGEST HAVING SOMEONE DROP…
